Charlotte and Dave Biro’s rescued racer, Jack Ryan, was the inspiration behind “The Operatic Adventures of the Greyhound, Flea-garo.”
Twelve years ago, these dog lovers became aware of the plight of the racing greyhound, and adopted one. This extraordinary breed is treated worse than cattle, squeezed into tiny cages 23-hours a day. And thousands every year are simply murdered when they no longer win at the track!
But thanks to Greyhound Rescue this is beginning to change. Organizations are spreading the word that greyhounds make sublime house pets––gentle, loving, 40-mile-per-hour couch potatoes that are catlike in their self-grooming—clean and odor-free. They are great with children and other pets, almost never bark, and despite their incredible athleticism, are amazingly calm.
As a tribute to Jack, who passed away earlier this year, Dave and Charlotte created this musical treat.
A portion of the proceeds from all sales are donated to Greyhound Rescue.
